By now you are probably wondering: "Who are these wonderfull Punk-Asses?" "Where are they from?" "What do they do"?" "Where can I get one? As we all know, curiousity killed the cat, but we don't like cats so that's fine. Anyways, maybe here you'll find some of the answers to the questions mankind has been searching for since the begining of time, which was last week when I reset my watch.
The Punk-Ass Brothers
We are a small group of friends that one day decided it might be fun to make our own movie. Instead of just letting it be all talk, we took the step and actually put our time and energy in a production company we hope will be able to make many fun projects.
Motivation
Our first intentions were just to make a little film that would be fun for us and our friends to watch, but by now our aspirations have taken a much larger form. Fun is still the biggest motivation though, we want to do what we like and like what we do.
Inspiration
Like everybody else we get our inspiration from people that have gone before us. One of our big examples is actor and film maker Kevin Smith, the man most people know as silent Bob in films like Mallrats and Dogma. Mostly because we are kind of following in his footsteps when it comes to making movies with your friends. Not to try to compare us to him, cause we are not worthy, but he surely is somebody for us to look up to.
Another one of our Icons is Lloyd Kaufman from the Troma studios. His movies have been a big inspiration to us. There sure is a lot to be learned from the mostly low budget movies that Troma makes.
Aspiration
So what is it that we hope to achieve with our production company? Right now we just want to be making movies. Hopefully a lot of people will want to see them. A lot of energy is going into shorts for the upcoming Punk-Ass filmfestival in September. Other than that we are working on video clips for local bands, so keep watching your MTV. And of course we want to sell a lot of our T-shirts, so make sure you check out our T-shirt page.
